Mike Hyatt’s Living Forward Book
This issue of TechTips is a bit different. And, it may contain one of the most important tips I can pass along to you.
I focus a lot of my time looking for tools that will increase your productivity — getting more done in the limited time you have. And, perhaps the most important part of productivity is making sure you focus on getting the right things done.
It does not matter if you use every technique and tool to get more done if you are not getting the right things done.
My friend Michael Hyatt has a new book publishing on March 1 (next Tuesday) called Living Forward – A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want. I just finished reading a pre-publication copy. I knew the book was going to be good — but it was excellent. I wanted you to have the opportunity to know about the book and get a copy if you’d like.
Here is the description of the book on Amazon:
“Each of us has but one life to live on this earth. What we do with it is our choice. Are we drifting through it as spectators, reacting to our circumstances when necessary and wondering just how we got to this point anyway? Or are we directing it, maximizing the joy and potential of every day, living with a purpose or mission in mind?
Too many of us are doing the former — and our lives are slipping away one day at a time. But what if we treated life like the gift that it is? What if we lived each day as though it were part of a bigger picture, a plan? That’s what New York Times bestselling author Michael Hyatt and executive coach Daniel Harkavy show us how to do: to design a life with the end in mind, determining in advance the outcomes we desire and path to get there.
“In this step-by-step guide, they share proven principles that help readers create a simple but effective life plan so they can get from where they are now to where they really want to be — in every area of life.”
I have been part of Michael’s digital course on goal setting for the last few years. It is the process I use to establish personal and business goals for the year and keep track of my accomplishments. Living Forward takes a step back and helps you make sure your goals are helping you get the right things done by stepping you through the process of creating a Life Plan.
The reason I wanted to let you know about the book this week is Michael and Daniel have put together some bonus material that is available only to those who pre-order their book. These additional materials are only available until Monday, February 29.
Here is the additional material you will receive if you pre-order Living Forward.
- A free copy of the audiobook.
- Admission to live online launch event on March 1 (Karen and I will be attending this in person).
- Detailed action plan guide.
- Living Forward quickstart audio training.
- Complete library of Life Planning templates.
Take these steps to see if this might be right for you:
- Michael and Daniel have put together a short video course about the book. You can sign up by clicking here. Even if you don’t decide to buy the book, you will get some great information.
- If you decide the book is worth the investment, then pre-order on your favorite platform – Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Books a Million, or iBooks.
- Once you receive your receipt, go to LivingForwardBook.com to claim your bonuses.
- Start working through the process of Creating Your Life Plan.
Disclaimer: Karen and I have known Mike and Gail for over 16 years. We live just a few blocks from each other and get together often to share a good meal, a glass (or two) of wine, and great conversation. So my recommendation does not come without bias.
What do you do to make sure you live the life you want? Let me know.

Pre-ordered the Kindle version. I actually took the advice I was giving businesses in my consulting practice and wrote a purpose statement for myself. “…to live in the Truth, to be a friend first, and to serve graciously.” Thanks for the info!
Lisa, I know you will enjoy the book!
