Simple Video Conferencing

By on May 6, 2010

Most of the time when you want to have a quick video conference, the setup entails cumbersome downloads, logins, and endless contact lists. TinyChat seeks to improve this experience.

TinyChat lets you create a basic, Web-based chat room with just one click of a button, by generating a unique URL that you can share with whomever you choose to invite to the virtual hang-out.

No additional add-on software is required. The system works on Windows, Mac, and Linux – and with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Chrome. There is also a version available for iPhones.

You can have up to 12 people in a room, password protection is provided, and moderators oversee the interaction. The service allows you to share your desktop. Conferences can be recorded and embedded on a Web site or blog. If you are not recording, once you close the screen, the data is gone.
